What Tests Can I Practice?
You can use this site to take practice questions that come from the different parts of the guide book. The questions are grouped into tests:
- Whole-Book Test – these tests will provide questions that can come from any part of the guide book and are a realistic way of checking to see if an applicant is ready for the real exam.
- Section Tests – these tests will provide questions from only the selected part of the guide book that you wish to practice. When you are ready, you can then move onto the whole-book tests.
These test types are available as:
- Refresher Quiz that provides 5 questions to get some quick practice.
- Full Length Tests that provide 24 questions. Correctly answer 18 questions to pass.
How is the Test Formatted?
The Life in the UK test contains 24 questions selected from a database that can cover any aspect of the guide book.
The test must be completed within 45 minutes and 18 questions must be answered correctly for you to pass. No guides or notes will be allowed while taking the test.
There are four types of question that may be encountered:
- Multiple choice: select one correct answer from four options
- True or false: deciding whether a statement is true or false
- Correct statement: Selecting a correct statement that you think to be correct from the list of options
- Multiple right choice: selecting two correct answers from four options
How Long Does it Take to Practice?
How long it takes you to practice for your test will depend on how quickly you have learned the content from the Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents.
You can take the practice tests on this site as little or as much as you need. Practice does not guarantee test success, but it does help you prepare effectively.
